Apply for annual prequalification. The CSU Board of Trustees policy requires all architectural firms seeking commissions on major capital outlay projects to be prequalified. Prequalification is an annual requirement.

 

San Francisco State University is requesting qualification statements from interested and qualified design-builders to to provide design, preconstruction, and design-build construction services for the West Campus Green Affordable Student Housing and Student Health Center. The first program is a new residence hall that provides at least 750 beds of affordable housing for incoming first-year students. In addition to the bedrooms, the residential portion of the project will include associated activity and study space, office space for the residence hall administration, meeting rooms, recreational areas, and faculty-in-residence apartments. It is also assumed that a dining hall will be constructed on the ground floor of the building. The second stakeholder is the Student Health Center (SHC) and will be studied as an alternate during schematic design.

Qualifications statements must be received by Friday, January 21, 2022, at 2 p.m. in order to be considered for this work.

Update 07/18/22: The Phase 1 Design Build Contract is intended to be awarded to McCarthy Building Companies, Inc/EHDD.

San Francisco State University is requesting qualification statements from architect-led design teams to develop refurbishment plans for Mary Park and Mary Ward Residence Halls. Completed in 1960, each building is six stories tall and approximately 77,000 square feet. Qualifications statements must be received by Thursday, February 27, 2020, at 1 p.m. in order to be considered for this work.

Update: The deadline for submitting qualifications is extended to Monday, March 2, at 11 a.m. The RFQ has been updated to reflect this change.

CSU Service Agreement and Rider A for CM at Risk Projects

 

The Trustees of The California State University are requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from interested and qualified design-builders to provide design, preconstruction, and design-build construction services for the Science Replacement Building. RFQ documents are posted on the PlanetBids Public Solicitation Portal website. Respondents shall first register as a vendor and then log in to the PlanetBids Public Solicitation Portal to search for this project and download the RFQ documents. Responses must be received by July 17 at 5 p.m. in order to be considered for this work.

This contract was awarded to DPR Construction + SmithGroup (San Francisco).

San Francisco State University is requesting qualification statements from collaborative design teams to develop a campus master plan for the Estuary & Ocean Science Center at the Romberg Tiburon Campus. The EOS Center is a research and service organization of San Francisco State University, located in Tiburon, California. The center has an established academic reputation for excellence in marine and estuarine sciences. SF State will seek certification of this plan under the Living Community Challenge. Responses must be received by April 2 at 1 p.m. in order to be considered for this work.

Note: Local sea level rise projections specific to the site will be provided to the selected design team. This expertise will not be included as part of the design team's scope of work.

San Francisco State University is requesting qualification statements from creative and forward-thinking multidisciplinary transportation planning, design, and engineering firms to develop a mobility plan and wayfinding system as part of an overall campus master plan update. The mobility plan will support the physical master plan, which will define the organization of the campus. The qualifications statement must be received by February 23, 2017, at 1 p.m. in order to be considered for this work.

San Francisco State University is requesting qualification statements from innovative environmental design and engineering firms to develop the utility and infrastructure element of its campus master plan update. We are seeking firms that reflect the campus’ visionary goals for sustainability and resilience. The qualifications statement must be received by February 23, 2017, at 1 p.m. in order to be considered for this work.

San Francisco State University is requesting qualification statements from inventive planning, architecture, and landscape architecture firms to develop a physical plan that is central to a comprehensive campus master plan update. The physical planning process will take place mostly on campus, in an open charrette format. The qualifications statement must be received by February 21, 2017, at 1 p.m. in order to be considered for this work.

This contract was awarded to SWA (San Francisco and Sausalito), in collaboration with HGA Architects and Engineers, Neu Campus Planning, and Crowdbrite Solutions.
